鍵合固定相之所以廣泛用在毛細管柱中，是因為能提供的柱質量。為了真正地融合傳統(tǒng)的填充柱和毛細管柱各自的優(yōu)點，有必要開發(fā)用于填充柱的鍵合液相。現(xiàn)在通過使用Restek鍵合固定相填充柱，填充柱色譜分析者可以享有短的調節(jié)時間的、低的流失水平、更長的使用壽命。

鍵合固定相的另外一個優(yōu)點就是比非鍵合固定相的壽命長。相比非鍵合固定相，鍵合固定交聯(lián)鍵合力，分子間的作用力更大，因而抗氧化能力更強。由于這種材料是*的交聯(lián)結合，因此不會像非鍵合草料那樣出現(xiàn)液相流失現(xiàn)象。
